1 inch lobes

By Carissa from California.
I started stretching my lobes when I was fourteen right after I got my lip pierced. My earsI started stretching my lobes when I was fourteen right after I got my lip pierced.

My ears wernt pierced I just had a scar from when I had them done when I was a baby so friend and I went to hot topic to pick me up some plugs and the smallest size they had were 12’s so I bought them anyways, we went to the bathroom and I shoved them in I pretty much just tore a hole in my ear, it was stupid. my earlobes were so swollen I couldnt sleep or eat because it made my jaw swell too. Probably the dumest move ive made with any of my body modifactions.

I stretched stupidly and cleaned my ears with rubbing alcohol until I was to about a zero and I realized I was doing everything wrong so I took my time with stretching I stopped jumping sizes, cleaned them properly, taping them, stopped wearing acrylic its like murder for your ears dont buy acrylic. dont do what I did it was dumb. Ive seen so many storys of people ust totally killing their ears by jumping sizes putting random objects in them, using peroxide to clean them , its horrible, strettching your ears isnt a tiny piercing like an ear piercing that wont effect your life, if you want to stretch think about it it isnt always reversable, it will effect how you get a job and if you’re doing it wrong it can severly effect your health. no one wants a ripped, or blown out ear so be smart with it. stretching isnt some joke or fad.

After 5 years of stretching im at an inch, im staying here for a while, possibly going to an inch and a half, but im not sure im going to sit on it for a year and think if I want to, I do plan on keeping these, not letting them close up, I put to much work and care and love into my lobes. they look great they are healthy and happy and perfect, ive never torn them or anyuthing like that its easy to have nice looking stretched lobes people just dont take the time to take care of them.

I however did. It isnt a race.

A parent’s Defiance

By Jennifer, from Georgia.

I asked my mom a few months ago if I could get a cartilage piercing and of course she said “NO!” Me being the person I am decided to go against her wishes and did it anyway.
After buying some studs from wal-mart. I came home and got myself some gloves. I then went into the kitchen to get some ice. At this point I was so excited and scared at the same time and also kind of jittery.

I went into one of our bathrooms (the one no one ever uses; it is the cleanest) and layed everything down. I put the gloves on and used cotton balls to wipe of the cartlige area with alcohol. I did that because I have done alot of research on the DIY cartilage piercing and that was one of the things I remember being said about it. Anyway, I then took two ice cubes (one in front of my ear and one behind it) and held it there for about 3 minutes so that it will numb my ear.

After putting the ice cubes down I took the earring and then looked at it took a deep breath and sorta kinda hesitated for a minute I thought to mself hurry up before the numbness wears off! So finally I took my ear looked in the mirror for the right spot and pushed the earring through. At first I Heard a pop and got excited, you know cause I thought i got it through but I felt the back of my ear and it wasn’t through yet So I keep pushing a little bit upward and heard 2 more pops (3 total) and then I put the back on. I did this again to the other ear except with different icecubes and a different cotton ball. To my surprise it came out symmetrical. YES!

I cleaned it at least twice a day and turned it while cleaning it. Its been about 4 months and its healed. I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself although mine didn’t get infected. Good luck!

Cute but it hurt…

By Jasmine from Ohio…

MY NAME IS JASMINE. I ALWAYS SEEN GIRLS AROUND HERE GETTING THE TOP OF THERE EARS PIERCED. I THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE AND TO FIT IN I WANTED TO GO GET IT.

SO I WAS GOING TO GO ASK MY MOM COULD I GO GET IT DONE. BUT AS YOU KNOW HOW MOTHERS ARE….SHE SAID NO. WHICH I WAS MAD SO I SAID FORGET IT AND ASKED MY DAD WHICH HE SAID YES…[DADDYS GIRL].

SO THE NEXT DAY ME AND MY BESTFRIEND WENT TO THIS TATTOO AND PIERCING PARLOR CALLED DINO’S WHICH IS VERY POPULAR HERE. AND DINO WAS THE NAME OF THE GUY WHO PIERCED IT. I WAS SO SCARED. BUT BEFORE HE DID IT HE SHOWED ME HOW HE WAS GOING TO DO IT.

SO HE TOOK HIS PIERCING GUN AND I MADE MY BESTFRIEND HOLD MY HAND. THEN HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO COUNT TO THREE…THEN I SCREAMED! IT HURTED SO BAD. THEY SAY THE HIGHER YOU GET UP ON YOUR EAR THE WORST IT HURTS. BUT AFTER WE LEFT I WENT HOME TO FACE MY MOM. WHICH SHE AS MAD BUT I DIDNT CARE.

I THOUGHT I WAS CUTE BUT IT HURTED AND THEY SAY “PAIN IS BEAUTY.” MY NEXT STEP IS TO GET MY TONGUE PIERCED.

Unprofessional gauging

By Andrea, Wichita, KS

Ear Piercing

My boyfriend was wanting to gauge his ears for a very long time. I kind of did, but not really, it just looked cool to do, but I knew there would be some pain in the process of doing it. My parents look down upon it and are very strict and won’t let me do anything like it since im only fifteen.

Since his parents are extremely nice and have their ears gauged, they talked me through the whole process, since they said I could go right to a sixteen from a normal ear piercing. I couldn’t get the darn thing in, I used petroleum jelly, lube, peroxide and alcohol, and it wouldn’t go in. 🙁

By that time I was getting really frustrated. I stopped trying to for a few days until my boyfriend came over and tried doing it for me. (I absolutely hate people touching my ears) He tried, and it still wouldn’t go in. so later that night after he left, I tried putting them in again.

I used lube on them and I was really frustrated that I wasn’t able to get them in yet and my boyfriend was already at a fourteen by then, and so I pushed it in, (I was barley pushing it in the first few times) I felt so accomplished. I took a picture on my phone and sent it to my boyfriend and he replied back that he was proud of me.

I looked up online about how to take care of them, and so everyday in the shower i wash them with warm water and soap, and in the evenings I use peroxide. I waited two weeks before going up to a fourteen. Right now, I’m waiting to get twelve’s. I’m probably going to wait two weeks for these fourteens to heal.

My boyfriends at a ten now. I’m planning on going up to at least six or four. When I first got my fourteens they slid right in, no pain at all. I’m guessing there won’t be a lot of pain with any of the other sizes going up now. I would suggest to anybody to do this to their ears if they wanted to.

The pain at the very beginning is worth it. It feels like just popping a huge pimple, but on your ear. The cheapest gauges I found were at Spencers. For a pack of 3 pairs of the same gauge size was $ 9.99.
